I started writing so I could leave something behind for my daughters after I’m gone. Nothing too heavy. I started this blog to have a place to store that writing.

I live in a suburb of Kansas City with my wife of almost forty years. If you ask her I’m sure she would tell you I am starting to get on her nerves. She would also tell you I am cheap, bald, borderline fat and occasionally an asshole, but in my defense it is never on purpose and only when I’m sure I’m right.

I have a three year-old grandson I adore, and two terrific daughters I have already mentioned. I am quite proud of them both. I work for a large insurance company in the catastrophe claims division, so I have the opportunity to travel extensively, which I love. I hope to retire in relative comfort in a few years, and it’s beginning to look like that may actually happen.

I like reading, golf, photography, Texas music, beer, growing tomatoes and sitting on my deck listening to baseball on the radio.

    Hi Truman,

I’m writing a silly article for this host called Newscastic about the differences between Fort Collins and Laramie, and I was wondering if I could get your permission to use your fantastic photo of the bullet hole in the mirror of the Buckhorn (in Laramie) displayed on your page https://roadtested.wordpress.com/2011/08/02/22/.

    Thank you for your help!

You’re just a young whipper-snapper. See how long you’ve lasted already!!

  4. Somehow the visual of you living in the burbs of Kansas.. working in catastrophe claims…traveling overseas.. and listening to Texas music or baseball while out on your deck.. has all the makings of a fine indie film. Maybe you should fictionalize your life story..?
